Well finally we have some additional armor for the Black Bull, British 11th Armoured Division. Here we have the completed A34 Comet Heavy Tank, a Cromwell MK IV and a Daimler MK 1 armored car.
The Comet, advancing toward the main road through the low stone wall....
and Cromwell making use of its bocage cutter, are patterned after the 29th Armoured Brigade's 2nd Fife and Forfar Yeomanry Regiment.
The Daimler is part of the supporting Recce Regiment, the 2nd Northhamptonshire Yeomanry.
The Daimler was a 4 wheel drive vehicle with a 2 pounder canon.
In Bolt Action it has the Recce rule to get out of sticky situations.
The Cromwell is a great all around medium tank in Bolt Action and still my favorite from World of Tanks!
Here you can see added stowage and the crew left their bucket hooked on the rear of the vehicle.
Now for some punch, the A34 Heavy Comet tank!!
This guy can pack a punch and has serious armor comparable to a Panther.
The A34 Comet was the last British tank type to enter the war. The 11th Armoured Division received the Comet in January of 1945.

German Armor from Warlord Games for Bolt Action!
Well When you don't have time to show off your own stuff, show off someone elses!! David Dinsmore has been cranking out German Armor and these are just a few of the new ones. We featured some of his Soviet armor in an earlier post. Here we find three fine examples of the iconic German Panzer IV . . .
Including an Afrikakorp variant..
a Sturmgeschütz (StuG) III Tank Destroyer . . .
and last but not least a Jagdpanzer 38(t) Hetzer
Those who play world of Tanks know all these guys and even non war game enthusiasts would recognize the iconic Panzer IV
The Panzer IV fought from the invasion of Poland to the fall of Berlin. The Panzer IV was constantly updated, with its sound design giving it a longevity well beyond that of its contemporaries.
The StuGs were welcomed by the infantry, supporting their attacks with HE shells or knocking out enemy tanks to the extent that by the end of hostilities, they had amassed more kills than any other German vehicle.
The last great bit of news is these are all for sale on our eBay store!

Bolt Action Gingerbread Stalingrad Battle
Nathan had a Soviet Medium tank and a Sherman on lend lease from the USA. I ran with two T-34s.
Nathan started the moves by advancing his Sherman into the ruins for some cover. The Soviets moved two more tanks on before the Germans emerged to open fire on the Red armor!
There were plenty of misses due to the cover provided by the ruins. Quite a few hits were also scored which caused pins, but first blood went to Nathan as his Sherman hit and destroyed one of the Panzers.
After a few exchanges, one of Kevin's Panzers returned the favor by destroying a Soviet tank with a long shot.
The two T-34's commanded the center of the board from the Tractor Factory. One of Jon's Panzers took a hit and caught fire. However the crew was able to get the flames out and retreat from the building they were hidden in.
The Germans had the last three moves in turn six. Kevin's Panzer moved out for a clean shot into the factory, but failed to hit. So the game ended in a draw with one kill each.
It was a quick fun game with new players!

Stalingrad Gingerbread Tank War Edition!
In honor of this festive time of year we decided to indulge a little. So, we're thinking Stalingrad, Bolt Action, World of Tanks and Gnigerbread all go well together. Here is what we came up with.
Using Graham Crackers and traditional "royal icing" made from powdered sugar and egg whites we set to work. The crackers are pretty brittle so we used a set of dental tools and hobby knife to cut the window and door openings.
Here was the first test structure
and the next with it.
What would Stalingrad be without the tractor factory. Here it is in the early stages.
Here it is with the rest of the Gingerbread buildings. It even has a hammer and cycle sign posted above the entrance. For World of Tanks fans, this looks like a tier six match.
Russian, British, German and US tanks clash among the ruins!!
It was a great afternoon of fun.
Now to get the armies together and let the Bolt Action games begin.
About three years ago we built a Gingerbread Fortress which we posted here on the blog.

Wasteland Terrain & Russian T34/85 Medium Tanks from Warlord Games
Each Terrain piece has a hard base made of MDF board and the top is carved polystyrene insulation board. We showed how these are built on a previous blog post.
Now about the T-34 series, with its sloping armor that changed the principles of tank design during the war. The sloping, angular layout of the T-34 increased the effective armor thickness, and also saw a larger proportion of shells deflected away than penetrated its armor.
The introduction of the T-34 into action saw German tank design follow suit with similarly angled armor on the likes of the Panther and King Tiger. As German tank design came to the fore, the Soviet war machine once again raised the bar with the T-34/85.
The T-34/85, the very symbol of Soviet military strength in the Second World War, had a new turret to house the more powerful 85mm ZiS gun. A supremely rugged and reliable tank, the T-34/85 had excellent off-road capability, especially in the marshland or snow of the Eastern Front, and was easy for the crew to operate and maintain.
The T-34/85's great strength lay in its adaptation of the T-34/76 tank design which preceded it. This ensured a far smoother and faster production line than would have been the case with a completely new design.
Another major advantage was the sheer number of tanks the Soviet tank factories could produce - by the summer of 1944 the Soviet war machine could produce more T-34/85s in a month than the Germans had Panther tanks in the whole of the Eastern Front!
With over 21,000 of the 57,000 T-34s built during WWII being T-34/85s, the Russian credo was clearly one of quantity over quality, although it was an unwise Panzer commander who discounted the ability of the T-34/85.
Now that our history lesson is over, you can see the job David did in painting these Russian Tanks! Here is another he completed, a US Sherman, also ready for sale.
We'll have a batch of German Armor very soon. Panther IVs, Stugs and a Hetzer are all on the way. If you have a request for a specific piece of armor you'd like painted, please let us know!
Have A Great Battle,
